Mark Tyson Scores Career Best Saturday Night
Berwick, PA (8/31/2013)- In his second full season of Late Model stock car competition, Mark Tyson of Hatboro, PA held a clean line to take his #22 WARRANT / I Saw Red Pontiac Grand Prix to a career best second place finish Saturday night at Pennsylvania’s Mountain Speedway.
Tyson started from the pole position and led the Late Models to the drop of the green flag in the main event, but Mitch Hawk grabbed the lead to have the top spot over Tyson and Paul Monkoski. The top four remained the same in the early going and then third place changed hands when Frank Hughes took the spot from Monkoski.
In a caution-free event, Hawk set a steady paced and remained out front to pick up the win. Tyson finished as the runner up, followed by Hughes.
“We did a lot of work to the car during the week and to finish in second to Mitch feels awesome”, noted Tyson during a post race interview.
“I just want to thank my family, God and definitely the guys from WARRANT and Erik Turner Wines for such a great year so far, it’s been a lot of fun and can't believe that the season is almost over.”
