Mark Tyson Leads Laps and Settles for Third Place Effort
(June 29, 2013)- Mark Tyson led the Late Model field to the drop of the
green flag in the 30-lap feature Saturday night at Mountain Speedway.
From behind the wheel of his #22 WARRANT – I Saw Red Pontiac Grand Prix,
he led the first circuit over Riley Moczulski and Frank Hughes before
the yellow flag waved when Moczulski spun in turns three and four on the
second lap.
Green flag racing resumed and Mitch Hawk, who had worked his way to
second, grabbed the lead. However, only two more green flag laps were
run before the yellow flag came back out for rain.
Following the passing shower, Hawk led over Tyson, Hughes and Glenn
Slocum. Unpressured during the remainder of the event, Hawk cruised to
his second win of the season. Slocum got by Tyson in the latter portion
of the event for second. Hughes and Moczulski completed the top five.
