Mark Tyson Notches Top 5 & Makes WARRANT Fan Happy
(6/15/2013)- While piloting his backup car for the start of the 30-lap Late Model main event Saturday at Mountain Speedway, Mark Tyson had hopes of bringing home his first career victory for his sponsors and supporters from behind the wheel of his #22 WARRANT – I Saw Red Pontiac Grand Prix. Although he salvaged a fifth place finish, Tyson did manage to win over a fan with a trivia question giveaway.
Following an on track interview with Tyson after the event, Kathy Moyer answered the trivia question correctly and received an empty (darn PR guys get thirsty, LOL) Erik Turner autographed bottle of “I Saw Red” wine and a band autographed CD cover. Needless to say, she was really happy.
Riley Moczulski started from the pole position and was overtaken by Kyle Harvell before a lap was complete in the 30-lap Late Model feature. Moczulski tucked into the second spot, followed by Mitch Hawk, Tyson and Frank Hughes.
The field began to split up during the event and the best battle on the track was for the fourth spot between Hughes and Tyson.
In a dominating performance, Harvell cruised to his second win of the season. Moczulski finished a career-best second, followed by Hawk.
