Mark Tyson Earns Another Top 5
(May 5, 2013)- Mark
Tyson grabbed the lead in his qualifying race Sunday at Mountain
Speedway but was spun from contention before the end of the race.
Without major damage, he began the 30-lap main event from the outside
pole in his #22 WARRANT – I Saw Red Chevy Impala.
Jim Lamoreaux started
from the pole and led the opening circuit over Kyle Harvell, Dave
Brigati, Tyson and Frank Hughes. With three laps complete, Brigati
overtook Harvell for second and set his sights on the leader.
With Lamoreaux still in
command, the yellow flag flew on lap nine when Tyson looped his ride in
turn two. Following the restart, Riley Moczulski got by Hughes to take
Brigati stayed with the
leader and the duo battled hard for the lead. Meanwhile, Harvell settled
into third and took in the show that took place ahead of him. Eventually
Brigati took the lead with nine laps remaining and two laps later
Harvell moved by Lamoreaux for second.
Harvell pulled to the
back bumper of Brigati and let him know that he was there. With four
laps remaining, Harvell made his move to the bottom and moved to the
lead when Brigati was forced to give up the spot.
Harvell went on to take
the checkers over Brigati for his first win of the season. Lamoreaux
settled for third. Moczulski finished in fourth and Tyson rebounded for
