Mark Tyson Fights
Hard For Eighth Place Street Stock Finish
(April 7, 2013)-
Chip Wanamaker time
trialed quickest in Street Stock action and Bernie Uphold pulled the
pole position to start off the 25-lap feature. The green flag flew and
Uphold led the opening circuit over Mark Tyson, Wanamaker, Rich Emel and
Brian Wozniak. With two laps complete, Wanamaker overtook Tyson for
second and began to pressure Uphold.
With 11 laps complete, the caution waved when Wozniak spun in turns
one and two. Once the green flag came back out, Wanamaker overtook
Uphold for the lead.
A yellow flew on lap 12 when a tire went down on the Kevin Higgins and
then another yellow waved on lap 15 when Tyson spun in turn four. Paul
Morgan, Jr. was collected in the incident.
With Wanamaker still in command and with a lap to go, Chris Burge’s
day came to an end when his car went up in smoke. Tyson and Uphold were
collected in the incident because of fluid on the racetrack.
Despite a gallant effort by Wozniak, Wanamaker went on to take the
victory. Higgins finished in the third spot, followed by Emel and
Uphold.
